Sabres Down Devils

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Jochen Hecht (YOH'-kehn hehsht) scored twice and Ryan Miller turned back 28 shots in Buffalo's 4-to-3 triumph over New Jersey. The game was tied 1-to-1 until Daniel Paille (PY'-ay) and Hecht scored four minutes apart midway through the third period. Ales Kotalik (AL'-ehsh KOH'-tah-leek) also scored as the Sabres expanded their Eastern Conference lead to seven points over the Devils, Ottawa and Pittsburgh. Zach Parise (puh-REE'-see), Scott Gomez and Paul Martin scored for the Devils, who remain tied with the Penguins for the Atlantic Division lead.
